BIOGRAPHY

Ophelia Wynne is a photographer and a filmmaker.  The work is bright, colourful and energetic in style, very accessible and these qualities bring out something positive and authentic in her subjects. Finding colour and energy in unique people has always been my great passion. The personal work primarily centres on social and cultural documentation and it successfully spans the worlds of portraiture, fashion and advertising.

‘When I photograph a subject, I’m not just trying to capture it, I’m reading the way people act, watching how they respond and using that understanding to get the best out of people. I usually work by placing people in a situation and then see what happens, having fun, being spontaneous and letting it produce itself. I am at ease working anywhere in the world but my home is in the UK.

Ophelia documented kids at the ‘Underage Festival’ for five years, which developed into a book with a foreword written by Craig McLean. This book came second in the World International Photography Awards.

“Over the 20 years Ophelia has been undertaking commissioned work, she has photographed the likes of Florence Pugh, ASAP Rocky, Mary J Blige, Debbie Harry, Keira Knightley, Goldfrapp, Graham Coxon, Jenny Lewis, Damien Lewis, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Claudia Winkleman, Mos Def, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jermain Defoe, Rudimental, Kevin Pietersen, Razorlight, Beth Mead, Steven Gerrard, Tom Vek and many others.”
